Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953A-Q1, , DS90UB949-Q1, DS90UB949A-Q1

Hi Expert,

Looks through the website, and find there are DS90UB953 and DS90UB953A, DS90UB949 and DS90UB949A.  What is the difference? Thanks

Best regards,

David

  • Hi David,

The primary difference between the DS90UB953-Q1 and the DS90UB953A-Q1 is the device ambient operating temperature rating. The DS90UB953A-Q1 has a 125C maximum ambient temperature rating, while the DS90UB953-Q1 has a 105C maximum ambient temperature rating.

The primary difference between the DS90UB949-Q1 and the DS90UB949A-Q1 is the supported PCLK frequency. The DS90UB949-Q1 supports a maximum PCLK frequency of 170 MHz while the DS90UB949A-Q1 supports a maximum PCLK frequency of 210 MHz.

  • Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your feedback. Is there any need for the 125C ambient temperature rating for automotitve, went through your products and find 91x, 93x, 94x and 95x all for 105C ambient temperature. Why 953A need 125C ambient temperature?

    Thanks

    Best regards,

    David

  • Hi David,

The need for a 125C ambient temperature rating will be dependent on the application. If the application does not require a 125C maximum ambient operating temperature rating, the customer can use the DS90UB953-Q1. If the application does require a 125C maximum ambient operating temperature rating, the customer can use the DS90UB953A-Q1.

    Regards,

    Kenneth

  • Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your feedback. Could you give an example of what application need 125C ambient temperature?

    Thanks

    Best regards,

    David

  • Hi David,

The ambient temperature rating is a system level requirement, so we do not define the types of applications that require a device with this temperature rating. The customer determines if there application requires operation at a higher temperature rating, and then selects the compatible device accordingly.
