DS90UB947-Q1: how to understand digital reset0 and digital reset1?

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1

hi ,

as titled, we have two type of digital reset as below:

my question are:

1. what the difference between digital reset and POR?

2. how to understand the difference between two types of reset. like "reset the entire digital block except register"?

3. if the snow screen disappear after digital reset0, what will be the possible reason or debug direction? do we just recommend customer add the digital reset after lock?

thank you

  • Hi Yuan,

1.) Digital reset will essentially reset the entire device without the need to power it down, setting all values back to default. You can choose the option for Digital reset you want depending on the need to maintain the register values or not.

2.) Digital RESET1 will revert all values back to default, including registers, while Digital RESET0 will NOT reset the values of registers back to default. This will allow you to save register settings if you are testing something that is not default. However, registers with values set by straps, such as the MODE_SEL pins, and a few other registers will still be reset.

3.) Yes, I believe you can recommend a digital reset0, but let me double check and get back to you on that.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
