Hi, TI expert
A customer has requested a DisplayPort (DP) to embeded DisplayPort (eDP) converter IC recommendation.
From what i checked on TI.COM, there doesn't seem to be any device that supports DP to eDP.
Could you please check that you have a suitable device?
Thank you.
For detailed specifications, please refer to the information below.
Hi,
The main differences between DP and eDP are the number of electrical wires, different physical connectors, and different usage models. You should able to drive the eDP LCD directly.
Thanks
David
Hi, David
If so, is there a suitable device to recommend?
Please check. Thank you.
Hi,
You can drive the eDP LCD directly, so there is no need to have a converter IC.
If you need a re-driver to boost signal integrity, you can use DP141 or DP142 between the DP connector and the eDP LCD?
Thanks
David
