I am trying to obtain a PSPICE model for SN65HVD1782Q. Where do I find it?

Hi Gayatri,
We do not have a Pspice model available for this device - and due to its age I don't think it will be getting one anytime soon. Currently we have the IBIS models for this device - which are currently the only simulation models that we have available.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions on part usage and I will see what I can do.

Is it possible for me to model equivalent circuit of the transceiver? Or is it okay to use 1786 instead for simulation?
I am trying to understand the maximum short that A and B pins can tolerate in case of a short
Hi Gayatri,
Yeah - it is possible to make a simplified circuit model - but it depends on what you want to model and how accurate you want it to be. In general our spice models that already exist for these types of parts are lacking - they are very simple models that don't account for a lot. For short circuit current there is just a source that will limit the current to stop it from going past max - its all based on resistive loading of the model.
The 1786 is going to be an older model and I don't think its a very well flushed out model and it has higher performance than the 1782 so it may give unrealistic simulations when trying to understand the 1782. I am not sure if short circuit current is modeled.
I will say on the short circuit current - its max value is 200mA and min is -200mA as seen in datasheet. To model this on our newer devices we have voltage controlled current source as the driver output - they will output a linear current (linear with loading) until the current is > than max and than it will limit current to the max value (for this device it would +/-200mA, but most RS-485 it is +/-250mA) - I will be honest - its probably not the most realistic thing modeled - so I am not sure if a spice model will actually tell you much more than - the device internally limits driver short circuit to +/-200mA .
Please let me know if you have any other questions on what the model can do and what it can tell you.
