DS90UB954-Q1: The register configuration of 954, with two group lane

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953-Q1,

Hello Team,

954 is divided into two groups of lanes, and 953 is followed by 954. Is this design feasible? Do you have a register configuration reference file for the 954? What we need to pay attention to when designing this?

Thanks!

  • Hello,

954 is divided into two groups of lanes, and 953 is followed by 954. Is this design feasible?

A design with one DS90UB954-Q1 device connected to two DS90UB953-Q1 devices over two separate FPD-Link III coax or STP connections is feasible.

Do you have a register configuration reference file for the 954?

If the design recommendations of the datasheet are followed, there typically are not any initial register configurations required to establish a link between the DS90UB954-Q1 and the DS90UB953-Q1. Most of the registers in each device are assigned default values that will allow for a link between the devices to be established whenever they are first connected. Any additional configurations that may be required will be dependent on the application.

What we need to pay attention to when designing this?

For design requirements specific to this device, I recommend that you refer to the typical application schematic and layout guidelines provided by the device datasheets. For both the DS90UB954-Q1 and the DS90UB953-Q1, the typical application schematic and the layout guidelines can be found in Sections 8.2 and 10 of the device datasheet.

    Regards,

    Kenneth
