SN65DSI86: Question about the input formats, consumption and 4K

Part Number: SN65DSI86

Hi  team,

Could you please confirm such questions:

1. What are the input formats supported by the device? Currently, RGB666 and RGB888 are seen in the manual. Are there other formats? Can you help me to list all supported formats?
2.  The datasheet shows the maximum condition and typical condition about the power consumption. I feel confused about what  Icca and Icc stand for. If i want to calculate the power consumption, can i calculate consumption like that P=1.2V * 126mA? or P=1.2V*(126mA+52mA)?

Maximum condition: WQXGA 60 fps Dual-Link 2xDP at HBR2, PLL enabled; typical condition: WUXGA 60 fps 1xDP at HBR2, PLL enabled

3. Can the device support 4K? Because I saw that "4K equivalent to 120fps" is written in the feature description, and the 4K mode is not written in Table 13

YOURS

NAN

  • Hello, NAN,

    1. DSI Video modes supported are: Loose RGB666, RGB666 and RGB888

    2. Icca corresponds to the Vcca power supply which is the supply voltage for the analog circuitry. Icc corresponds to the Vcc power supply which is the supply for the digital core. Additionally, there is the VCCIO and VPLL that power the digital I/O and PLL, respectively.

    3. This device is suitable for 60 fps 4K 4096 × 2304 resolution at 18 bpp color. You can look at data rate and bandwidth on the eDP side here. This device is eDP 1.4 compliant supporting 4 lanes at 5.4 Gbps (HBR2) which provides sufficient bandwidth for the applications mentioned in the datasheet.

    Thanks,

    Zach
