SN65HVD10: RE and DE enable and R/D pin connect to MCU using question

Hi Expert,

My customer have two question about this part.

1.RE and DE can both setup always enable at the same time , Is that setting will happen any wrong or side effect ? 

2. If they want to connect to their MCU controller the R pin and D pin need to pull high ?

    If both driver and receiver are enabled, then whatever signal you are sending on the D pin can be read back at the R pin. (Always enabling the driver prevents any other devices on the bus from sending; this is unlikely to be a useful circuit.)

    The D input has an internal pull-up resistor. The R output can be left open; you need a pull-up if you want a defined voltage when the transceiver is powered down or when the receiver is disabled.
