Hi team,

The datasheet states the maximum data rate as below.

So, when SLR=Low, maximum 20Mbps is achievable. When SLR=High, then the date rate will be limited at 500kbps max even if the actual communication speed is 1Mbps. Is my understanding correct?

Yes. (Pulling SLR high slows down the signal edges.)

Hi Kurumi,

When SLR is low or floating the device can operate up to 20Mbps . If SLR is held high the differential transition time is slowed down to reduce higher frequency emissions - this decreases the max signal rate to 500Kbps - if applying a 1Mbps signal when SLR is high the communication may suffer from high bit loss - if a 1Mbps signal is used it is highly suggested to keep SLR low or floating.
