DS90UB948-Q1EVM: Cannot be detected by ALP software

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP, USB2ANY

Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding the issue with one of the DS90UB948-Q1EVM of our customer. Please see the details of the issue below.

I have problem with DS90UB948. After first connection to PC it was detected by ALP. Next a firmware update was proceeded and it crashed. After that board was no longer seen by ALP. Is there a way to update the board even if it is no longer detected by ALP?

I would like to describe the problem.

At the beginning the device was detected in the Analog LaunchPAD. We are sure because we read Serial Number using this application.

The problem occurred during Firmware update. When the popup was showed we confirm that we want to update firmware. After some time, it looks like this was not finished successfully.

After then the product cannot be detected in LaunchPAD. I think the problem could be related that the Firmware was removed from the board.

The same updates we have on another 7pcs of this product without any problems.

The question for you:

  • What can we do more?
  • Is it possible that we can go to special bootloader session and put the Firmware again? Or maybe do you have some tool which we can use?

I asked our customer to reinstall the ALP software by following the steps at Section 1.9 of the User's Guide as well as the troubleshooting guide at Section 1.10 but it didn't solved the issue.

Does manually updating the firmware of the USB2ANY by following the instructions in the E2E thread below will solved the problem?
