Hi

Customer have HD-SDI requirement . Currently, They now use Semtech GS2988 and GS3440 on our EVT board and customer hope to evaluate TI’s solution as well.

1. Please help to provide related technical documents of LMH0344SQ and LMH0302S.


2. Is LMH0344SQ and LMH0302S pin compatible with GS2988 and GS3440?

3.LMH0344SQ and LMH0302S and EVM? If there is, I will apply with the local TI FAE

    Hi Gareth,

    1). Documents for LMH0344 and LMH0302 are on TI.COM. These are very mature products and we do not have EVM for these boards.

    2). GS2988 is the cable driver and has extra feature like input equalization. Customer application may not need this but this is the main difference. On the other hand GS3440 is pin compatible with LMH0344 and LMH0384 devices. LMH0384 has a better cable reach versus LMH0344.

    Hi Gareth,

    We have three options:

    1). LMH0307: This has the same functionality as GS2988.

    2).There is also LMH0397 and LMH0318. These parts have the same functionality and more(integrated retimer).

    3). Lastly, there is LMH1208: This part is 2.5V supply dual 75-ohm cable driver and can support rate up to 12Gbps(including 3G max rate supported by GS2988).
