Hello,

Our customer asked about if TUSB216 and/or TUSB211 work abnormally unless D1x and D2x short circuit. We knew that TUSB216 and TUSB211 are works normally as long as D1x and D2x ties together though, could you let us know if these devices works normally even if D1x and D2x disconnect, or it is mandatory to D1x and D2x short circuit together.

    Hi Toshiro-San,

    The USB2xx redrivers do not need to break the continuity of the DP and DM USB lines, they boost the USB signal passively. As such, you can leave DP and DM, or D1X and D2X, shorted and place the redriver over these lines. If these are not shorted, then the redriver will not go into effect.
