SN65DSI86: About data conversion.

Hi team,

I'd like to know about it can change data conversion 30Hz to 60Hz.
I transfer data at 30Hz, but depending on where I am connected, the data transfer may not be in time for a 60Hz frame rate.
If that can be changed, I'd like to know how to do it.

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hello, Kengo,

What is the horizontal and vertical pixels of your application? How many bits per pixel?

The SN65DSI86 registers can be programming based off the datasheet EDID information or the eDP/DP panel EDID information. TI created a spreadsheet to facilitate the SN65DSI86 registers programming. Before using the spreadsheet, please read the "READ ME" worksheet first for an understanding on using the spreadsheet.

    Thanks

  • Hi Zach,

Thank you so much for sharing the xlsm file.
I want to convert the Displayport output to HD resolution 1280x720 / 60Hz when the DSI input is HD resolution 1280x720 / 30Hz.
Could you please advise me on how to fill in this file?

    Sincerely.
    Kengo.

  • Hello, Kengo,

The DSI86 is just a bridge from the DSI to eDP data. The DSI86 does not care about frame rate but rather data rate.

Please read the Read Me portion of the excel sheet for help programming your registers.

    Thanks,

    Zach
