TIOL1115EVM: How to connect the TIOL1115EVM

Part Number: TIOL1115EVM

Hello all,

I am working on developing an IO-Link device with the TIOL1115EVM.

With the evaluation board, i am not using the VCC out of this.

Is it necessary for me to connect the Enable via pull down resistors, wake via pull up resistor and TX also via pull up resistor ? or can i simply connect the TX to TX on MCU pin, RX on RX pin and Enable and wake as GPIO outputs from microcontroller pins. without any resistor in between ?

  • Chirag,

As long as the MCU connections can drive the pins listed to the state needed for proper operation at all times, the pull up and pull down resistors are not needed. These are there in case the MCU loses connection and the pin needs to be held in a state while not being driven.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
