Hi,

The AEQ searchs EQ from 2 to 14 and SP from 7 to 10 by default.

I want to change the EQ searching from 0 by setting register 0xD2 = 0x98 according to my margin analysis result.

Most of my margin analysis look like the following graph:

Does the register changing make sense?

Hello Chris,

it is recommended to leave 0xD2 to default!

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

Could you explain why? My goal is to only change SET_AEQ_FLOOR bit.

The datasheet says that the default is good in long cable, but how long is a long cable? I'm using 4 meters cable.

Hello Chris,

It is good to leave that bit always set, and if you want change reg 0xD5[3:0] for setting the desired Floor value. It is good to increase to 3 or 4 for long cables such as 10 meter or longer. For your use case with 4 meters, I would suggest keeping it to 1.

Thanks for your explanation.

Something I was confused. I thought that setting reg 0xD2[2] = 0 is equivalent to setting 0xD5[3:0] = 0.

So if I keep the reg 0xD2 default, is it recommended to set 0xD5[3:0] = 0?

Chris,

for your cable length I would keep 0xD2 and 0xD5[3:0] to default.
