DS26LV31QML: reference Design

1. Yes it the LV31 is going to be the driver and LV32 is the receiver portion of the sub-system - the device selected is driver only.

2. https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla070d/slla070d.pdf?ts=1682520824566&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F Here is a generic overview of how to setup RS-422 and RS-485 systems - its not a reference design, but it does show standard implementations and why those exist - as what Clemens said was correct - there aren't a lot of parts on the bus and is generally pretty simple.

3. PPS is a hard one - because it depends on the requirements of the PPS signal

3a) What is the pulse width for the PPS ? 

3b) Are there any jitter or prop delay requirements from the system

I ask because sometimes PPS can be very precise - and if that is the case I wouldn't recommend RS-422 or RS-485 as its not a precision  standard. So please let me know and I will see if this will be a good fit - as we have used similar parts in PPS applications - but it depends on the actual needs if we can do a PPS with this part.

If using this chip, do you still need to add a 422 transceiver similar to THVD1552?

The DS26LV31QML has four drivers. The THVD1552 has one driver and one receiver. You probably want a device with four receivers like the DS26LV32AQML (Why did you choose the DS26LV31QML? Do you need the military rating?)

The customer wants to convert a 10MHZ square wave into a 422 differential signal transmission through DS26LV31 and DS26LV32.

Can the DS26LV31QML be directly connected to the serial port of the microcontroller similar to THVD1552 and what baud rate can it support?

From the Datasheet, we couldn't find any information about the  speeds of DS26LV31/32 can support..

Are there any other manuals available？Can you share ?
