Customer would like to configure the PHY to disable advertising from Gbit-ETH, as their cables are only designed for up to 100Mbit.
Now it seems that in Windows with standard drivers it is not possible to change the corresponding registers. Support for this from the CPU module manufacturer is likely to end with the BIOS at the moment, but this does not work because Windows will reset the PHY back to Standard Config.
We are using this windows version: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (Win10-21H2).
In my opinion, bits 8 and 9 of register 0x0009 would have to be set to 0 on DP83867 in order to prevent advertising for GBit-ETH:
- Are there drivers for Windows where the config of the PHYs can be changed?
- Can the Config be changed in any way using the standard Windows driver?
