TCAN1043A-Q1: TCAN1043ADMTRQ1 INH pin

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

Hi, I have a question on INH pin of TCAN1043ADMTRQ1.

1) INH pin high at boot, INH pin will pull low after 3 minutes, at this time CAN_H and CAN_L have external devices(raspberry pi), want to know what the reason for pull low may be?
I also found that CAN_H and CAN_L are 0V, but my external device is 2.26V

P.S. EN,nFAULT and nSTB pins are also high

Thanks,

Juno

  • Hi Juno,

When the TCAN1043A enters Standby mode such as during initial power up the SWE timer (~4 minutes) will start. If the device does not enter Normal mode within tINACTIVE, then the device will automatically enter Sleep mode. This is a fail-safe mechanism that ensures the device and local node will default to the lowest power state in case there is an issue with the MCU.

The keep to INH pin high and the CAN bus bias active (to 2.5V rather than 0V), the transceiver will need to be put into Normal mode (EN=nSTB=high) with all power supplies (Vcc and Vio) above their undervoltage threshold before this SWE timer times out. Please double check that all of these conditions are met in your setup. To confirm that the transceiver is in Normal mode, you can drive data on TXD and observe the corresponding change on the CAN bus and RXD signal line.
