Hi team
Can these ethernet PHYs support IEEE1588?
We do have the application note. Does it mean that it can implement IEEE1588, if we configure DP83867 by following?
How to Configure DP83867 Start of Frame Detect (ti.com)
How about DP83826?
Does it always run in IEEE1588, if we use DP83640?
BR
Leo
Hi Leo,
DP83867 supports SFD which can aid the system to implement 1588 at MAC layer. The PHY doesn't have 1588 stack in itself like DP83640.
DP83826 doesn't support SFD and 1588.
Does it always run in IEEE1588, if we use DP83640?
On DP83640, IEEE1588 (i.e., PTP clock) is disabled by default. You can enable it via PTP_CTL register.

Hi Gokul,
Thanks for reply. How about DP83822I? How does it work for IEEE1588?

Leo
Hi Leo,
DP83822 supports SFD, but doesn't have IEEE1588 in it.
In short, among standard ethernet devices, only DP836xx family have IEEE1588 stack.
