VGA to LVDS conversion

Hello Team,

I am looking for a one chip or two chip solution for VGA to LVDS(18 bit) conversion.

Is there any direct solution available from TI?

Or I need to convert it to HDMI and from HDMI to LVDS (or any other similar solution).

Only Video will be sent to LCD Monitor from main processor board.

Kindly Help on the same.

Hi Pranesh, I wish I had an answer for you. I suppose it could work to use an ADC to convert to RGB, and then to use a Flatlink device to convert RGB to LVDS, for an LCD. Most TI Flatlink transmitters have 3.3V CMOS inputs, while the LVDS83B supports 1.8V-3.3V.

Finding a suitable ADC is the part I'm not sure about; I encourage you to ask that on this E2E forum: http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/videoconverters/default.aspx

Thanks for your reply. I am also planning for the same approach you are suggesting.

Video ADC is available from TI. I will plan to use it.
