DP83TG720EVM-MC: Can not link DP83TG720-Q1 PHY to LAN8650 PHY 10 Mbit/s

Hi Ti experts,

I am using: DP83TG720 evaluation module for 1Gbps media converter; and connect this to LAN8650 PHY

The speed of DP83TG720 PHY as I know is 1Gbps and the speed of

LAN8650 PHY is 10 Mbit/s.
I can not link up the connection between these 2 PHYs.

So my question is: the speed of 2 PHY must be the same => be able to link up 2 PHYs ?

And please give me some guide to link up 2 PHYs: setting,...

Hi Dinh,

The speeds of 2 PHYs should be the same for them to link up. Hence the DP83TG720 EVM will not link up with LAN8650.

Can we configure the speed of DP83TG720 PHY = 10 Mbit/s and mode: auto-negotiation link up ?
If yes, could you please give me a guide?

Hi Dinh,

DP83TG720 is a 1Gbps Automotive Ethernet PHY and can't support 10Mbps.
