TCAN1044AV-Q1: Drop test of reel box for shipping safety

Part Number: TCAN1044AV-Q1

Dear team,

We have a question from our customer regarding shipping safety.

As TCAN1044AVDDFRQ1 customer's part certification, we need information of drop test result of reel box or IEC 60068-2-31.

If this TI's reel box conform IEC 60068-2-31,  would you please let us know ?

If not, would you please provide us the drop test result of reel box ?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Yusuke Kawate

  • Ted,

Let me check with our assembly and test site to see if we have this testing information. It could take a few days to find the right contacts and get this information, and I'll update you as I hear back.

    Best,

    Danny

  • Dear Danny,

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Kawate-san,

I am still gathering information for you. We do have internal standards for drop testing of packing materials and product packing, however I am trying to confirm whether there is specifically a tie-in to IEC 60068.

I will follow up again once I'm able to get the rest of this answer for you.

    Best,

    Danny

  • Danny-san,

Thank you very much for kindly telling us circumstances.

We'd like to know whether the box is based on IEC60068 or not, as much as we can.

We expect these reel box are used as standard box in TI,

so if we could know this, it doesn't need to bother you with same question of the other part no.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

  • Kawate-san,

Yes, you're correct, the packing is similar/shared across different components at TI. This is why it is just a bit delayed while I continue to look for you answer. Here on E2E we are most quickly able to help with component-specific questions, but for questions like packing which apply to many different components, it can sometimes be difficult for our team to track down the information.

I appreciate your patience, I think I am close to having a specific answer for you regarding IEC 60068 directly.

    Best,

    Danny

  • Danny-san,

Thank you very much for informing us. I'm sorry for my late reply because of business trip.

I understood the cirscumstances, I appreciate your kind correspondance.

We look forward to hearing from you continuously.

    Best regards,

  • Kawate-san,

I appreciate your great patience here. I have discussed with the team that handles packing and I can now answer your question.

TI drop tests for packing are created by TI and we do not undergo testing per IEC 60068-2-31. Instead, we use our own internal processes to ensure drop test qualification.

    Best,

    Danny

  • Danny-san,

Thank you very much for your kind answer. I understand packing is qualified by TI's internal processes.

Is the condition and result of drop test confidential information ?

This is just my question for explanation to our customer.

    Best regards,

    Yusuke Kawate
