Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6415
I am relatively new to PCI & PCIe. I am tasked with a redesign of a standalone PWB design that used a PowerPC to configure three (3) TI DSPs (TMS320C6415) via the PowerPC's PCI interface. In the new design, the PowerPC is being replaced by an AMD MPSoC device, and this device does not support PCI. It does support PCIe, so I was hoping to use the XIO2001 as a PCIe-to-PCI Bridge to configure the three TI DSPs (which are remaining in the new design).
Question 1 - Is this a reasonable approach to use the XIO2001 to interface the MPSocC to the DSPs?
Question 2 - Is there a way to access the XIO2001 internal registers (besides using the serial EEPROM)? Can this be done through the PCIe interface by the MPSoC?
Note: I have been using the XIO2001 Data Sheet (SCPS212J - May 2009 - Revised Lanuary 2021) and the XIO2001 Evaluation Module User's Guide (scpu031b - February 2009 - Revised June 2014) as reference documents.
Thank you in advance,
