USB-2-MDIO: Abnormal Phenomenon

Hi Gust,

If my understand is correctly, you are having trouble on reading registers on the PHY. Could you do the following test for further debug:

• Could you probe the VDDA, VDD1V8, and VDDIO to make sure they are follow the datasheet specification
• Could you also probe Reset pin and Rbias pin make sure they follow the datahseet specification
• Could you also probe the MDIO pin to see rather it reach VDDIO voltage level?
• I saw your PHY ID is available on the PHYID 5. Are you able to read any register when PHY ID is 5 on the USB2MDIO GUI?
• The GUI we are using is the second one USB 2 MDIO tool.

I think there is something misunderstand. The picture shows PHY ID 5 is available, not belongs to me. I have capture it in other E2E. The all PHY ID not available is my settings. I just want to check whether my GUI exist the problem.

I have also change the VDDIO level as 2.5V, it can get the PHY ID but can't write successfully. Can you share the detailed demo for me how to set the USB-2-MDIO? I have installed the GUI version as blow picture. Can you help check whether it is right?

I have opened the link and seen the design resource of USB-2-MDIO. I just see the software installation package and user guide. I have installed the software package and check the user guide. Where is the application note? I think I need your help.

Have you take a look on the user guide on USB-2-MDIO? This is the App note I am mentioning on the previous post. It have detail information starting from section 2.3.2 in the App note.

Hi Hillman,

This problem has been solved. I have try to change the VDDIO from 1.8V to 2.5V/3.3V, which can be got the PHY ID and read/wrote the register value. Thanks for your help.
