Hello IT engineer,

Q1) Could you see the figure below. We want to access to TMP75 from the HOST by I2C. Please tell me the procedure to access in DS90UB953/DS90UB960.

Especially we also want to get all register's value for a communicating of this system.

Q2) I think that SerDies needs to be initialized. So, please tell me the address and initialization value for DS90UB953, and DS90UB960 as well.

(I'm checking a table 7-20 on the datasheet of DS90UB960. And we have to get a lot of "Reserved registers value". Please send us these reserved registers value)

Hi Michio,

Q1. SDA and SCL are passed through the FPD-Link between the 960 and 953. The temperature sensor can be accessed simply by writing its device address.

Q2. The 960 and 953 device addresses are set by the hardware strap configured on the IDX pin. There is no initialization value, you can communicate with both devices once they are fully powered up. Reserved registers are for internal use only and cannot be shared. You should only need to read/write registers that are publicly available in the datasheet.

Please provide register setting samples to realize the following GPIO connection configuration.

Hello Kuri,

please write the following registers:

On the 953:
0x0D = set bits [5:4] to 11 to enable remote DES GPIO data on SER GPIO 0 and 1, and set bit[2] to 1 or 0 to set GPIO2 output status
0x0E = 0x70

On the 960:
0x4C = 0x01
0x6E = 0x04

I2C successfully communicated between 960 and 953。
