DP83TC811EVM: How to set loopback test by using DP83TC811EVM

Part Number: DP83TC811EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83TC811R-Q1, DP83TC811

Hi Team,

Could you please help to check how to set up a loopback test by using DP83TC811EVM?

Custoemr device is DP83TC811R-Q1 and they would use RGMII.

Currently, customer want to do a loopback test and we have below support needs:

#1 Help to check if we need to configure both DP83TC811R and DP83822 into RGMII mode, and currently we plan to remove R43,R44 and R45 on the board, is that correct configuration?

#2 Configure 0x0000=0x6100

#3 Do we have test package which run in computer side which could share to customer to complete the loopback test?

#4 If there has any step missed here, could you please also kindly let us know.

  • Hi Jie,

Please note that the EVM should already be plug and play out of the box for throughput communication. As shown in the Altium file, these resistors are already DNP.

For MII loopback, Reg 0x0 = 0x6100 is the correct setting so anything coming from the RJ-45 side will go through DP83822, go to DP83TC811 and get looped back immediately on MII side.

There is no test package available.

FYI: We do have a newer 100Base-T1 device available; DP83TC812 which does have its own EVM.

    Sincerely,

    Gerome
