Hi team,

If I link up at 1000Base and communicate at 10Base, is there a problem?
Conversely, if I link up at 10Base and communicate at 1000Base, what would be the problem?

    Kengo,

    I would assume there is no issue in the former case, but big issues in the latter case. Do you mean that you will just be choking out the traffic such that in 1G communication, only small handful of bits will come out to equal 10mbps? 

    The issues for 10Base-Te would be that 1G communication occurs with all 4 MDI pairs while 10/100 only uses 2 pairs.
