CAN Transceiver Suggestion

TCAN1044AV-Q1: Compatible to ISO11898-2 and ISO11898-3

Hi Team,

One question regarding the TCAN1044AV-Q1. In datasheet it said that is suitable for ISO11898-2 high speed CAN protocol. Does it compatible to ISO11898-3 low speed CAN protocol if my customers would like to use this in a low speed CAN ? what changes should I make in a low speed CAN comparing with high speed one ?

If not compatible, do you have products to recommend that suitable for ISO11898-3 low speed CAN?

    Hi Manu,

     

    TCAN1044AV-Q1 is not compatible with ISO11898-3 low speed CAN protocol. Unfortunately, TI does not have CAN transceivers designed to support the ISO11898-3 physical layer. The device meets the requirements of ISO11898-2:2016 which consolidates some previous standards.

    Why is the ISO11898-3 standard required? We may have other suitable devices given the requirements.
