Hello,

It is mentioned in the datasheet of USB HUb (TUSB4020BI) that using the pins PWRCTL1/BATEN1 we can use this USB Hub for battery charging.

We have a 18650 cylindrical battery of 3.7V , 3000mAh. We do not need a fast charging circuit.

Request you to share the details and recommendation circuit for Battery charger using TUSB4020BI

and

also share the other recommended circuit with TI battery charger IC for our application.

It BATEN is on, DP/DM will do BC negotiation. external VBus device or charger device will charge the battery.

Hello Brian,

That means still we need external charge circuitry. I thought our USB Hub itself can be used as a charger IC for battery charging.

Hub just do BC negotiation, like SDP or CDP/DCP, Vbus is doing the charge.

TUSB4020BU does not have an integrated power switch and an external battery charging device must be used.

like BQ25303J or BQ25620

Hub just do simple USB charging though Vbus.

For battery charge , you need to submit another e2e ticket with device BQ25620, so someone from BQ group will help you.
