Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD230, SN65HVD232, SN65HVD233
Anyone have done decapsulation for this part. There's only die marking of C231 , besides the TI marking . What does the C231 represent, especially the alphabet C?

Eugene,
This is a very old part and I'm not sure, but it could just be C for CAN, then 231 for the version of the SN65HVD23x family that it is.
Is there any reason you need to know this information? Tracking it down could take some time and it doesn't have any bearing on the device's function, unless something is wrong with this device.

Hi Eric, As what i've seen for other device under the same family, However for this 231 doesn't have HVD and also TI Logo. And the date code for the 231 is dc:2231
SN65HVD230 (DIe marking: Have TI Logo, Partial part number HVD230B)
SN65HVD232 (DIe marking: Have TI Logo, Partial part number HVD232B)
SN65HVD233 (DIe marking: Have TI Logo, Partial part number HVD233)
Eugene,
Understood, right now I'm not sure where to find this information. We would have to go through the old design databases, which takes a lot of time, and I'm not sure if anyone on our design team has the bandwidth to do this.

Eugene,
I asked and this will be very difficult to track down, and since this won't have a direct effect on the functionality of the device, it won't be high priority for them to find out. I will update this thread when I have a response, but it likely won't be for another week.
