DS125BR111: Do the DS125BR111 or the DS160PR410 offer a PCIe pass-through mode?

Part Number: DS125BR111
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS160PR410

Hi TI E2E,

Do either the DS125BR111 or the DS160PR410 offer a PCIe pass-through mode whereby the the PCIe signals are passed through the IC without any signal processing.  If so, how is that mode enabled in these respective ICs?

Sincerely,

Hal

  • Hi Hal,

These two devices do not offer a pass-through mode. As they are linear redrivers, however, their impact on the signal chain is relatively small when the CTLE is set to the minimum boost value.

For DS160PR410, please refer to sections 3.2 - 3.3 in the programming guide to configure the CTLE (Table 8 - CTLE index 0 or 1 recommended):

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/snlu255/snlu255.pdf

For DS125BR111, registers 0x0F and 0x11 are responsible for configuring the EQ and VOD gain for channel A. For channel B, please refer to registers 0x16 and 0x18.

    Thank you,

    Evan
