DP83867IR: Inquiry about the device settings

Hello,

My customer is testing DP83867IRPAP operation for 1000Base-T Ethernet compliance.

They followed the mode setting guide, but the output is confirmed only on CH A, and there is no output on B, C, D. Additionally, they tested Modes 2-4, but the same symptom occurred.

Address 0x1D5 (PROG_GAIN) is not writeable, and the data sheet also guides you as follows.

1. Please tell us how to output from all CHs A,B,C,D in mode 1,2,3,4.

2. Please let us know if there is a way to add gain in mode 1.

    Hi JH,

    I believe customer is not following the extended register write procedure, that is the reason customer is unable to write register 25h and register 1D5h.

    Can you please recommend customer to follow the extended register write sequence mentioned in the datasheet ?

    Also, register 0x01D5 is recommended to be programmed in order to pass compliance on DP83867, this can also change with customers board design, layout and the components used. Customer can try both with and without writing 1D5h register and test it out.
