Hi,
I am using the part AM26LV31ESDREP.
1. Can we leave the input/output pins floating?
Regards,
Nachiketh
Unused outputs can be left open. Inputs must not float; connect unused ones to VCC or GND.
Hi Nachiketh,
It's a little different for each type of pin on this component. For the G pins, it is highly recommended that the G pins are either biased to VCC or GND so that you can always know what the values are if the logical input on those pins are unknown or a high impedance. Similarly, if you are using a differential line, it is recommended to bias the input and output pins if there could be a case where it could be left floating. Again, this just helps you know what the logic level of a pin is at all times.
If you have a differential line that you're not using, we recommend just grounding the input just so that it's locked to a value, and leaving the output open should be fine.
Please reach out with any other questions.
