TLIN1431-Q1: can we provide separate VCC to microcontroller and not use VCC from SBC chip

HI team,

I am intent to provide separate power rails to Microcontroller ( 3.3V) and not using TLIN1431-Q1 VCC power rail from internal regulator.

I am confuse here, because in application Microcontroller VCC is connected with LIN SBC chip VCC.

Also I saw somewhere in the application that for channel expansion , Microcontroller vcc is separate. But I do not want to use channel expansion.

Please suggest how this can be done .

Hi Satish,

VCC is an output that can be used to power external devices. The application is just showing that the microcontroller can be powered from the TLIN1431-Q1. That being said it does not have to be used.

Are the microcontroller and the TLIN1431-Q1 referencing the same ground? If so, you can use a separate power rail for the microcontroller.

Yes both the Microcontroller and TLIN1431-Q1 will have same GND reference.

SO if we are not using SBC's supply what should be the connection on VCC pin. Can we left open directly or do you recommended any capacitor value on this.
