TCAN1145-Q1: How to Disable LWU

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hello,

What's the correct way to disable TCAN1145-Q1's LWU (Local Wake-Up) function? I'd like to know about the register and pin settings.

Best regards,
Shinichi Yokota

  • Hi Shinichi-san,

Do you mean that the local wake function will not be used at all in this design? If so, the WAKE pin may be tied directly to GND to prevent inadvertent wakeups from this wake source. No further register configuration will be needed.

Let me know if this is the information you were looking for and if you have any more questions.

  • Eric,

I'd like to ask some additional questions.

    1. Is it OK to put a pull-down resistor to tie the WAKE pin to GND?
    2. Can the LWU_ENABLE bit of the register INT_ENABLE_1 disable the LWU function?
      • Does it only mask a wake interrupt by LWU and won't disable the LWU function itself?

    Best regards,
    Shinichi Yokota

  • Eric,

Could you give me feedback on my additional questions?

    Best regards,
    Shinichi Yokota

  • Hi Shinichi-san,

Thanks for your patience while I was on time bank.

Is it OK to put a pull-down resistor to tie the WAKE pin to GND?

Yes, a resistor to ground on the unused WAKE pin is no issue.

Can the LWU_ENABLE bit of the register INT_ENABLE_1 disable the LWU function?
    • Does it only mask a wake interrupt by LWU and won't disable the LWU function itself?

Correct, this register bit only masks the interrupt. The INT_ENABLE fields have no other impact on device functionality.
