Hi, team:
Nice to meet you!
My customer use DS25BR100 for transmit and receiver, and data rate is 3.125Gbps, I want to know how much loss that device could stand?
Is 14db or 8db?

DS25BR100 has 8dB equalizer gain at 3.125Gbps. This means it increases the signal by about 60%. For example if the signal is at 100mVpp it increases it to 160mVpp. Then on its TX side pre-emphasis is 6dB meaning it pre-conditions the high frequency content of the signal by 6dB, So total signal conditioning is 14dB(8+6). Based on actual test then we can realize whether we need to turn on de-emphasis(14dB) or turn off de-emphasis(8dB).

Hi, Nasser:
Thanks for your help! I want to ask another question: What's the minimum acceptable LVDS signal value?
In customer's actual project, they want to use only one DS25BR100 for receiver, the LVDS signal is 400mV and will trough 10cm PCB (RF4), signal will attenuate 3dB, we want to know whether the signal will be identified correctly.
Hi Hailey,
3dB means signal will get attenuated by about 1/4. This means with 400mV input signal we will have 300mV differential signal. So this is three times high or low threshold and so it would be identified.
