Hi at all,
Is correct connect the TUSB1142 outputs to an USB A 3.0 as in attached schematic? TX to RX and RX to TX?
Many thanks.
Luc.

Hi,
The connection is correct. Can you share a little bit on your design? Why are you using a USB Type-A connector?
Thanks
David
Hi, is a tester for a USB C notebook, in the USB A we have a pen drive, on the other side an USB C that goes to the USB C notebook, forcing CC1 and CC2 pulldown we can test all notebooks USB C signals without extract and swap the cable (the cable has all pins connected).
Hi,
Thanks for the clarification. With USB Type-A receptacle being used, you just need to make sure the TX eye meets the USB spec requirements.
Thanks
David
Hi David, are you sure this connection is ok?
I've changed the USB micro B receptacle from the TUSB1142 evaluation board to an USB A receptacle, but looking a datasheet of a micro usb B to A adapter, seems that this connection is swapped ,TX with RX.
Many thanks.
Hi,
From USB connector perspective, SSTX of the connector is being defined as an output and SSRX of the connector is being defined as an input. So looking at the TUSB1142 EVM schematic, I see this,
Looking at your schematic, I see this
So the connection looks to be correct, what is your concern?
Thanks
David
Hi David, thanks for the reply.
If you look the attached pinout of USB micro B to USB A connector, you can see that the signal on pin 6/7 of the USB micro B (the connector on the evaluation board) goes to pin 5/6 of USB A (the connector on my schematic), so TX and RX appear reversed...
Hi,
This is correct, as you want to connect the TX to RX, and RX to TX,
Thanks
David
