DS90UB633A-Q1: photo-coupler isolation used in fpdlink channel

Hello Expert,

We have a customer who is currently using DS90UB633 and DS90UB954 for their solution, and it is working correctly now.

The customer would like to add a photo-coupler isolation between DS90UB633 and DS90UB954, which can support 10Gbps speed but only supports unidirectional communication. Therefore, adding the photo-coupler will disable the backward channel between DS90UB633 and DS90UB954.

We would like to know if this solution is feasible and if there are any registers that need to be configured additionally.

HI Nick,

Do you know what mode the customer is using? We don't recommend to connect anything else to the FPD link.

the customer has fixed this problem. Seems that FPDlink can work with a photo-coupler isolation.

We haven't seen a photo-coupler being used to help with EMC issues with other automotive customers. Let me know if you want to look further on the EMI issue.

Yes, this case is very special. But there is even a photo-coupler product OPT-CPB10-S1, which is dedicated for FPDlink system. I'll tell you if I got more information.
