Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83867CS, DP83867CR, DP83869
Hi teams
What is the SGMII standard for DP83869HM?
Does the DP83869HM comply with CISCO's SGMII standard?
The DP83867CS appears to comply with CISCO's SGMII standard.

Hi User,
The DP83869HM does support SGMII. However, the DP83867CR does not support SGMII.
Best regards,
Melissa
Hi Melissa
I understand that DP83869HM supports SGMII.
Please let me know if it complies with Cisco's standards as electrical standards (VO, VI) for SGMII.
Also, I understand that DP83867CS does not support SGMII, but the datasheet says it does.
SNLS504D – OCTOBER 2015 – REVISED NOVEMBER 2022
Hi User,
Yes, we do support it. Also, I made a mistake and misread the part #, the DP83867CS does indeed support SGMII.
Best regards,
Melissa
Hi Melissa
The following questions have not been answered.
Please answer them.
Questions
Does The DP83869HM comply with Cisco standards as SGMII electrical standards (VO, VI)?
The following is an excerpt from the DP83869HM data sheet.
Is the electrical standard indicated by the red box SFP (1000Base-X/100Base-FX)?
The SGMII input standard for the DP83867 is shown at
e2e.ti.com/.../dp83867is-dp83867is-dp83867is-sgmii-dc-specification
Question
Is the input standard for SGMII of DP83869HM the same as that of DP83867?
HI Melissa.
I understand that DP83869 and DP83867 have the same SGMII standard.
Please let me also confirm the electrical standard on the output side of SGMII for DP83869.
Question
Is the following the correct electrical standard for the output side of the SGMII of DP83869?e2e.ti.com/.../dp83867is-dp83867is-dp83867is-sgmii-dc-specification
Hi User,
Yes. The important SGMII spec to focus on is the hexagon of the eye. As long as your eye does not intersect with the hexagon, the signal is valid.
Best regards,
Melissa
Hello,
Thank you for your post. The US offices are closed 7/4/23 for Fourth of July holiday. Melissa will respond upon her return 7/5/23.
Sincerely,
Gerome
Hi User,
Question 1If the DP83869HM is used facing each other, can it not be used because the output voltage is less than the input voltage?
You can connect two DP83869HM facing each other on the SGMII side. There is some attenuation from the output to the input, which is why there is a difference between the two specifications.
Question 3You haven't answered the very first question. I ask again.Does the DP83869HM comply with CISCO's SGMII standard?
Yes, as I mentioned in the threads above, the DP83869 does support the standard.
Question 2,Is 100mV (±50mV) diff correct for the minimum value of point B?
Yes.
Best regards,
Melissa
HI Melissa.
I have read over the answers and which one is more accurate?
Question.
Is the minimum received differential voltage ±50 mV? Or ±100 mV?
Hi User,
The eye diagram depicts the minimum difference in voltage - 100 mV. However, the actual minimum and maximum values are -50 and +50.
Best regards,
Melissa
HI Melissa. I agree about the minimum input voltage for SGMII.
we would like to suggest The datasheet for the DP83869HM defines the input voltage as
・1000base-X/100base-FX (SFP_MSA)
・SGMII (CISCO standard)
I would like you to write each item separately.
