DP83826I: Turn off FLD setting

Hi Team,

I understand that in Basic mode, the default setting is FLD "ON".

I would like to know how to change the setting of FLD to OFF.

After writing 00h to register 0Bh, my user read 468h, but CFG_FLD_EN = "1".

Is there a mistake in the setting method?

HI Kenji,

Have you tried also setting CFG_FLD_EN = 0 after setting register 0x0B? If that does not work, try writing 0x1F = 4000 after all the commands and reading CFG_FLD_EN twice.

CFG_FLD_EN is not listed in the datasheet as R/W type.

Is it correct that it is writable?

Hi Kengi,

Apologies, I made a mistake as CFG_FLD_EN is not a writable register. The behavior you were originally seeing is expected, the bit CFG_FLD_EN = "1" is determined by strap and in Basic mode, it is turned on by default.

To turn off FLD, you were correct in writing 00h to register 0Bh. However, CFG_FLD_EN is expected to always remain as 1 in basic mode even if you turn off FLD. The way to confirm that FLD is off is by reading 0Bh.

If it is no, Could you explain in detail how to turn on FLD?

Hi Kenji,

FLD can be turned off in basic mode by writing 00h to register 0Bh. It's just that the changes won't be reflected in register bit CFG_FLD_EN.
