PCI2050B operational current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCI2050B

Team

My customer Shimadzu wants to know maxmum operational current of PCI2050B when both primary and secondary bus operate 33MHz with 3.3V supply. Do you have the data?

Best regards,

Ttesuro Shibuya

  • Hello,

Find the power numbers on the attached file.

    Regards.

    - typ measurements are taken with 66 MHz capable SCSI card and hard drive taken behind bridge
    - Max measurements taken using bus exercisers, toggling data lines between 0 and 1.

    Vccp = 5V
    Vcc = 3.3V

Nothing is connected to secondary bus, no primary clock:
    D0 1.2 mA
    D1 1.2 mA
    D2 1.2 mA
    D3 1.2 mA

Nothing is connected to secondary bus, primary clock running at 33MHz:
    D0 29.1 mA
    D1 29.1 mA
    D2 10.5 mA
    D3 10.5 mA

Nothing is connected to secondary bus, primary clock running at 66MHz:
    D0 34.1 mA
    D1 34.1 mA
    D2 10.5 mA
    D3 10.5 mA

Conditions Pwr State	IVcc (typ)	IVcc (max)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Primary Bus = 33 MHz	D0 37.0 mA 169 mA
    Secondary Bus = 33 MHz	D1 37.0 mA
    			D2 12.4 mA
    			D3hot 12.4 mA

    Primary Bus = 66 MHz	D0 43.5 mA 189 mA
    Secondary Bus = 33 MHz	D1 43.5 mA
    			D2 20.7 mA
    			D3hot 20.7 mA

    Primary Bus = 66 MHz	D0 61.0 mA 234 mA
    Secondary Bus = 66 MHz	D1 61.0 mA
    			D2 20.5 mA
    			D3hot 20.5 mA

  • Thank you for your prompt answer.

I would like to clarify,  does the IVcc (max) mean total current (combined both primary and secondary current)?

    Best regards,

    Tetsuro

  • Hello Tetsuro,

It is the current consumed by the chip itself from the power supply (Vcc).

It has nothing to do with the secondary bus.

    Regards.
