We have a problem with PCIe communication using DS160PT801 retimer. This is the same project but two different builds (exactly the same layout and components), but still in one of the build is not working. We have been able to dump all the registers but we cannot figure out what is the issue. Can you give us an opinion about those two attachment cfg files?

Are there any experts available for a meeting on this togood_retimer_regs.cfg bad_retimer_regs.cfgpic?

Hi Lucian,

Could you describe the issue a bit further in regards to what occurs on the 'bad' retimer board? Is the retimer able to reach any state of link-up?

Also, could you clarify if you are using an EEPROM for this board?

Hi David,

Please see attach the retimer schematic.DFM_SPIN2_01_IAN_2021.pdf

The hole schematic, layout of the project is exactly the same. On the latest build series the retimer is not able to establish a link on the pcie that is going to a miniSAS connector outside the PCB.

We can confirm that clock, supply voltage, bootstrap config, memory is verified, also the firrmware provided by a PIC uC used for I2C configuration is the same.

We suspect a mistake on the plant or chip revision different.
