DP83869HM: Use of magnetics for copper interface TX

I am not clear about using magnetics. use. It is used for copper wire interface. If suppose i am using T1/TX interface then we need magnetics(Transformer). Please provide some infromation

Hi Manoj,

Yes, magnetics are required for copper interface. Please see section 10.2.1.2.2 of the datasheet for more information.

Hi David,

Thanks for reply so do we need magnetics for 1000 Base T1 and 1000 base Tx interface also. Please provide some reference where i can get more clarity.

Hi Manoj,

Section 10.2.1.2.2 lists the magnetic requirements for the DP83869, regardless of the speed. The DP83869 does not support 1000Base-T1. For 1000Base-T1 PHY, please have a look at the DP83TG720.
