TUSB216-Q1: Uses of TUSB216-Q1

Part Number: TUSB216-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP30338

I design for automotive, I follow PMP30338 reference design. I'm thinking of using tusb-216q1 considering in-vehicle cabling. But for wiring losses, should I position the tusb216-q1 in my design or should I use out of the my design(PCB)? Or we need that?

Otomotiv için tasarım yapıyorum, PMP30338 referans tasarımını takip ediyorum. Araç içi kablolamayı düşünerek tusb-216q1 kullanmayı düşünüyorum. Ancak kablolama kayıpları için tasarımımda tusb216-q1'i konumlandırmalı mıyım yoksa tasarımımın dışında mı kullanmalıyım?

  • Hi Oguzhan,

For placement of our TUSB216-Q1 redrivers, we generally advise that the redriver should be placed near the connector of the PCB that has the host device on it.

If, after placing it there, the signal quality is still not strong enough, you can place another redriver on the opposite side of the connector, as the connector plus distance between the boards can add more insertion loss and jitter.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
