SN65HVD3082E: if SN65HVD3082E can accept 3.3V supply power condition

Hi team,

I want to make sure how to tell SN65HVD3082E supply voltage. According to the DS, the max supply voltage is -0.5~7V; the recommended operating supply voltage is 4.5~5.5. If the customer use this device in 3.3V system, will there be some issue?

    The absolute maximum ratings guarantee that the device will not be damaged.
    The recommended operating conditions guarantee that the device will work correctly.

    The SN65HVD3082E does not support a 3.3 V supply.

    Use a 3.3 V transceiver like the THVD1400 or SN65HVD72.

    Hi Hale,

    Clemens is correct -this device won't be damaged by a 3.3V source - but it won't work. 

    I'd recommend the THVD1400 as a device that is similar and works at 3.3V.
