TUSB1042I: Differences with TUSB1002I+HD3SS3220?

I'm currently designing a USB-C data-only interface with TUSB1002I redriver that feeds into a HD3SS3220 Mux, and then out to a USB-C connector. Would it be more advisable to replace those two chips with this single TUSB1042I?

Hi Kevin,

TUSB1042I would be a good alternative to TUSB1020I and HD3SS3220, but you will still need CC controller (HD3SS3220 includes CC controller).

Please note that TUSB1146 is TI's newest USB 3.2 redriver with mux. This device supports higher data rates and has better performance. I would suggest getting a quote for both TUSB1042 and TUSB1146 and considering the benefits of TI's newest, better performance device.
