We don't use eye mask criteria for FPD-Link III as a pass/fail criteria since measurement of the eye diagram requires shutting of the back channel from the 960 which will result in the system being in a state which doesn't match the real application. For qualification of the link between the SER/DES we recommend to verify the channel s-parameters between the pins of the SER to the pins of the DES against the channel specifications for the pair to ensure that Insertion Loss, Return Loss, and TDR are within budget as well as crosstalk (for 960 channel to channel).
