TIC12400: Using TIC12400 as digital input for active low signals

Hi Team,

We are using TIC12400 IC as digital input for active low signals. do we need to have pull up on input line for avoiding floating connection issue or these inputs have pull up configuration by default.

Hello Manoj,

You should not need a pullup resistor and open or floating pins will be read as a high by the device due to the architecture of the device.

Thanks for reply. I will continue through mail. One query here is same(not required pull down) is appliable for active high signals also.

Can you provide reference schematic for active high and active low signals input.

Hello Manoj,

I'm sorry, I overlooked your request for a reference schematic. There isn't much to provide and there are figures in the datasheet for your reference. It is typically just a switch with a series resistor (Resd) and shunt capacitor (Cesd) which form a filter to help protect with transients and also stabilize the voltage during the measurement. Additional information how to select the right Resd and Cesd values for your application requirements can be found in the TIC12400-Q1 and TIC10024-Q1 ISO-10605 ESD Test Report.
