PCA9306: Questions of PCA9306

Part Number: PCA9306

Dear Team,

We design the power supply voltage for VREF1 1. 05V, and the device can work normally. Is there any risk in this use?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • The resistor at VREF2 must be connected to a voltage that is more than 0.6 V higher, i.e., more than 1.65 V.

VREF1 must not be higher than any I/O voltage, i.e., the pull-up resistors at all four I/O voltages must be connected to 1.05 V or higher. (They are not required to be the same as VREF1 or VREF2.)

  • Hi Jimmy,

Is the customer using this device in translation or switch configuration?

If customer is using this device for level translation purpose, the VREF1 = 1.05V is outside the datasheet spec, and TI can no longer guarantee the specs in the datasheet even though the device may seem to work. See footnote (1).

Also what is VREF2 voltage? Does the customer have a schematic they can provide?

    regards,

    Tyler

  • Hi Tyler,

    Thanks for your great support.

    Please refer below,

    Many Thanks,

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

While the customer may use 1.05V as the supply for VREF1, we can no longer guarantee the electrical specifications in the datasheet due to operating outside the recommended operating conditions per note (1).

The device may still work as expected, but certain parameters for example like the typical Ron might be affected.

    Regards,

    Tyler
