TLK2711-SP: PRBS test clarification

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

In the TLKS2711-SP when the test mode is activated the RKLSB pin indicates the test results (HIGH=PASS).

Does the RKLSB pin inform about the test results every RXCLK (each RXD0-RXD15 that arrive, it determines if it is correct or not) or only inform about the results when the complete sequence has been sent?

Thank you!

Best regards

  • Hi Rodrigo,

Unfortunately, I could not locate any additional internal documentation that clarifies this point, and I do not have a TLK2711-SP available to test with.

I think there are a couple different possible behaviors:

    1) RKLSB is synchronous to RXCLK and reports errors for each RXD0-15 after pattern synchronization occurs.

    2) RKLSB generally indicates if bit errors are being detected, but is not tightly coupled to RXCLK.

    3) RKLSB acts as a "sticky" bit after an error has been received.

Reading over the datasheet, I believe options 1 and 2 are most likely.  Are you observing any issues in your design related to RKLSB behavior?

    Thanks,

    Drew
