1. Does VCO of DS560DF810 need serdes data input (RX CDR) for operating or it can operate independently?

2. Can data rate of DS560DF810 be set any value?

3. Can PRBS generator work independently (without RX input)?

    Hi,

    1) The VCO requires data input for operating and cannot operate independently.

    2) The data rate cannot be set to any value.  From the datasheet: All channels lock independently to both PAM4 and NRZ data rates from 19.6 to 28.9 GBd (including div-by-2 and div-by-4 sub-rates).

    3) The PRBS generator requires an input in order to work.
